The inauguration ceremony of ICC World Cup 2011 will be held today evening in Bangladesh. Host Bangladesh has spruced up its capital Dhaka for the World Cup as it seeks to take advantage of a prime opportunity to rebrand a country often known only for devastating floods and cyclones.
Bangladesh Prime minister Sheikh Hasina will be the Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony which will mark the beginning of the month long premier event in the world of cricket.
The inaugural ceremony will take place at the Bangabandhu National stadium in Dhaka during which the Captains of all the 14 competing nations will be present.

Canadian singer Bryan Adams will also be performing at this inaugural ceremony tonight and the hosts have ensured to make this event successful and memorable for cricket lovers. The Captains of all the 14 competing nations will enter the stadium on Rickshaws. The gates for the spectators will open around 2.30 pm.
