Injured Collingwood out of IPL

Paul Collingwood, who was signed up by Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2011, has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. He is set to undergo surgery for a damaged cartilage in his right knee next week, and will not recover in time to participate in the tournament that begins on April 8.
"Paul will undergo surgery next week and following discussions with our medical staff, we have advised his IPL franchise that he will not recover full fitness in time to take part in this year's IPL," Andrew Walpole, England and Wales Cricket Board's general manager-communications, was quoted as saying in the Times of India.
Australian seamer Ben Hilfenhaus, who was slated to play for Chennai Super Kings, is also out of the tournament with injury, according to the team's website. Tim Southee, who was added to the team after the auction, following his strong show in the World Cup, will take Hilfenhaus' spot in the side.
