Kapil Dev, India's former captain, has criticized Dhoni's decision to bowl during the first Test at Lords. Kapil Dev made it straight-forward that Dhoni shouldn't have taken the ball as it looked completely ridiculous for a wicket-keeper to leave his job and do what someone else is meant to do.
"Dhoni has made mockery of Test cricket by bowling (himself). This is not acceptable that on the second day of the Test match, you can't do this," a release from news channel quoted Kapil as saying.
Kapil Dev also showed his anger over Zaheer Khan who suffered from a hamstring injury on the first day of the Test and is unlikely to bowl for the remainder of the first Test. "Zaheer is responsible for this. He has put the team in trouble. He should have known his fitness and tested his fitness levels before returning to test cricket," he fumed.
"It's really tough to bowl 20 overs a day in Test cricket. Zaheer is responsible for this. He has killed the possibility of India winning this Test match," he added.
