Jacques Kallis occupies No.1 spot in the ICC Test rankings

Jacques Kallis, South Africa's middle order batsman, jumps to the number one spot in the ICC Test Batsmen Rankings while on the other hand Sachin Tendulkar drops one spot below to no.2. This change is rankings is partly because Tendulkar opted not to play the first test against the West Indies.

A player loses 1% of his ratings points for every Test he misses, so Sachin will lose more points because he will miss the remaining two Tests against West Indies. He will begin next month's Test series in England in second place, though, as there is some gap between him and Kumar Sangakkara, who is third.

Other than this, Kallis also tops the all-rounder rankings while his team-mate Dale Steyn is still ranked as the number one test bowler. Ishant Sharma, who took 6 wickets in Kingston, moves up to no.11 while English bowlers, Grame Swann and  James Anderson occupy the 2nd and 3rd spot respectively.

Rahul Dravid moves up to no.20 after his fantastic knock at the Kingston while VVS Laxman is knocked out of the top 10 in the batsmen rankings due to his poor performance in the first test against the West Indies.
